ISLAMABAD: A district court in Islamabad has declared Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Omar Ayub Khan a proclaimed offender in connection with a case related to the November 26 protest and has issued his permanent arrest warrants.
The order was issued by Judicial Magistrate Shaista Kundi during proceedings at the District and Sessions Courts in Islamabad.
According to the court’s ruling, Omar Ayub was declared a proclaimed offender after repeatedly failing to appear before the court despite being summoned.
The court subsequently issued permanent (non-bailable) arrest warrants against the PTI leader.
The case relates to the November 26 protest, in which Omar Ayub has been charged with violating Section 144 and other relevant provisions of the law.
The court’s decision follows earlier proceedings in the same case, in which arrest warrants were also issued for other individuals, including PTI founder Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan, over alleged non-appearance before the court.
As of the time of reporting, Omar Ayub or PTI had not issued an immediate public response to the court’s latest order. The charges against him remain subject to legal proceedings, and no finding of guilt has been made.
