SAHIWAL: A special anti-corruption court has acquitted Khawar Farid Maneka, the former husband of former First Lady Bushra Bibi, and his son Musa Maneka in a case involving the alleged encroachment and construction on cemetery land in Haveli Lakha.
The verdict was announced by Special Judge Anti-Corruption Masood-ul-Hasan in the case concerning the alleged occupation and construction on land belonging to the Haveli Lakha graveyard.
Khawar Farid Maneka and his son Musa Maneka were present in court when the judgment was delivered.
The court acquitted both Khawar Maneka and Musa Maneka of the charges.
However, the court declared Ibrahim Maneka, another son of Khawar Maneka, a proclaimed offender and ordered his arrest after he failed to appear before the court.
The Anti-Corruption Establishment had registered the case three years ago, alleging illegal occupation of cemetery land and unauthorized construction.
The court’s decision concludes the proceedings against Khawar Maneka and Musa Maneka in this case, while legal proceedings against Ibrahim Maneka will continue separately.
