KARACHI: Pakistan has extended its ban on the use of its airspace by Indian aircraft for another month, with the restriction now remaining in effect until August 24, 2026.

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) issued a new Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) on the instructions of the government, confirming the extension of the airspace closure for India.

According to the NOTAM, Indian-registered aircraft will continue to be prohibited from using Pakistan’s airspace during the extended period.

The notice further states that the restriction applies to aircraft operated, owned, or leased by Indian airlines and operators, as well as Indian military flights. The ban will remain effective until August 24, 2026, unless revised by the relevant authorities.

Pakistan first closed its airspace to Indian aircraft on April 23, 2025, and the restriction has since been extended several times.

The continued airspace closure is expected to affect the routing of Indian airlines operating international flights, requiring them to use alternative flight paths that may increase travel time and operational costs.
