ISLAMABAD: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has issued a notice summoning Noorine Niazi, the sister of former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, over her recent remarks regarding Pakistan’s armed forces and the operation referred to as “Maarka-e-Haq.”
According to the notice, Noorine Niazi has been directed to appear before the NCCIA in Islamabad at 12:00 p.m. on July 20.
The agency stated in the notice that false and derogatory statements against state institutions were allegedly promoted on social media.
The notice further warned that failure to appear before the agency would be interpreted as having no defense to present in response to the allegations under investigation.
The summons relates to an ongoing inquiry. The allegations mentioned in the notice have not been adjudicated by a court, and no findings of liability have been made at this stage.
