Karachi, October 8, 2025 — Chairman Manghopir Town, Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi, held a comprehensive meeting with Mr. Tariq Ali Nizamani, Managing Director of the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB), to review and strengthen cleanliness and waste management operations within Manghopir Town. The session, held at the Chairman’s office, focused on evaluating current sanitation efforts, improving waste disposal systems, and designing collaborative strategies for a cleaner urban environment.
During the meeting, Chairman Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi gave a detailed briefing on ongoing initiatives, including the installation of waste collection points, cleaning of drainage channels, removal of roadside waste, and the efficient disposal of garbage across the town. He emphasized that consistent monitoring and swift administrative action remain central to ensuring a healthy, hygienic environment for residents.
Chairman Brohi praised the tireless dedication of SSWMB field staff, calling them “the right hand of Manghopir Town’s administration.” He lauded their discipline, professionalism, and consistent presence in the field, which have collectively enhanced cleanliness and public convenience.
Managing Director Tariq Ali Nizamani commended Chairman Brohi’s leadership, vision, and public service commitment, describing Manghopir Town’s operations as a “model of transparency and efficiency.” He assured full cooperation from SSWMB to further modernize waste management infrastructure and strengthen inter-departmental coordination.
Both sides agreed to pursue joint planning for:
- Modernization of waste collection and disposal systems
- Timely provision of machinery and equipment
- Proper identification of waste collection points
- Implementation of structured cleaning schedules
- Training sessions and safety measures for field workers
- Separate management of biomedical and hazardous waste
They also decided to conduct monthly progress review meetings, joint monitoring exercises, and public awareness campaigns to promote cleanliness and civic responsibility.
Emphasizing the importance of community participation, both officials agreed to launch educational programs in schools, mosques, and community centers to encourage citizens to maintain hygiene, follow waste disposal protocols, and report any sanitation-related issues promptly.
Concluding the meeting, Chairman Brohi and MD Nizamani expressed mutual appreciation for the cooperation between the Town Administration and SSWMB.
