KARACHI: The government has increased the price of jet fuel used by commercial aircraft, marking another rise in aviation fuel costs.
According to official sources, the price of Jet A-1 fuel has been increased by Rs40.35 per litre, taking the new price to Rs291.55 per litre.
Sources added that this is the latest in a series of increases, with the price of jet fuel having risen by a total of Rs53.58 per litre over the past two weeks.
The increase is expected to raise operating costs for airlines, although there has been no official announcement regarding any immediate impact on airfares.
Jet fuel prices are periodically reviewed in line with changes in international oil prices and domestic pricing policies. Airlines and aviation stakeholders are expected to closely monitor the impact of the latest increase on operational expenses and the aviation sector.
