ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah has said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s speeches could aggravate the current political situation, describing his recent remarks as inappropriate.
Speaking on Geo News’ program Jirga, Rana Sanaullah criticized Bilawal’s comments, saying that his attitude toward Defence Minister Khawaja Asif was not appropriate.
He said Bilawal should speak as a national leader rather than using rhetoric driven by political rivalry, adding that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has never had a tradition of expelling party members in such a manner.
Rana Sanaullah also referred to the Joint Action Committee in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, stating that Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Faisal Rathore had declared the committee banned, and that the federal government fully supported the decision.
He further claimed that Bilawal Bhutto appeared to be opposing the federal government’s stance through indirect remarks and gestures.
The adviser’s comments come two days after Bilawal Bhutto Zardari called for the removal of Defence Minister Khawaja Asif from the federal cabinet, questioning whether Khawaja Asif’s statement on the Kashmir issue reflected the official policy of the federal government and urging Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to clarify the government’s position.
