SUKKUR : A grand closing ceremony of the Sports Gala organized in Sukkur to mark Independence Day and the “Battle of Truth” was held under the supervision of District Sports Officer Muhammad Akhlaq Ahmed Memon, on the special directives of Provincial Sports Minister Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Khan Mahar and Sports Secretary Manwar Ali Mahesar.
The closing ceremony was attended by athletes who participated in various competitions and personalities associated with sports.
Deputy Commissioner Sukkur Nadir Shehzad Khan, Pakistan Navy Sukkur Lieutenant Commander Yasir Kamran Khawaja, Chief Admin Rao Rais, Sinan Islam Sheikh, UC Chairman Yasin Arain, UC Chairman Huzoor Bakhsh Mirani, UC Chairman Farhan Ali Mirani, Dean of Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University Sukkur Dr. Shehzad Naseem, Deputy Director Sports Mir Muhammad Kalhoro, Sports Officer Ghotki Nisar Ahmed Chandio and District Sports Officer Muhammad Akhlaq Memon were among the guests present on the occasion.
During the Sports Gala, exciting competitions were organized in various disciplines, including taekwondo, hockey, cricket, kickboxing, ring ball, futsal, wheelchair racing and tug of war. Athletes participated enthusiastically and demonstrated their skills and sporting spirit.
Addressing the ceremony, the guests appreciated the abilities and performances of the participating athletes. They said that providing young people with better sports opportunities and facilities was an urgent need.
They emphasized that promotion of sports not only helps identify and develop the talents of young people but also contributes to building a healthy and positive society.
At the conclusion of the Sports Gala, prizes, trophies and certificates were distributed among athletes who demonstrated outstanding performances in various competitions.
The guests congratulated the organizers, athletes and the Sports Department for successfully organizing the Sports Gala and appreciated their efforts to promote sports activities among the youth of Sukkur.
