ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced significant progress in the ongoing online registration campaign for Hajj 2027–2030, revealing that more than 308,000 pilgrims have completed the registration process from their homes.
According to the ministry, prospective pilgrims can register conveniently through the official Hajj Portal or the Pak Hajj mobile application, eliminating the need for physical visits to registration centers.
Officials said the digital registration initiative is part of the government’s broader efforts to modernize Hajj-related services and make the process more accessible for applicants across the country.
The ministry also indicated that the next phase of the digital transformation will allow intending pilgrims to pay Hajj dues online, further simplifying the application process and reducing the need for in-person transactions.
According to the latest figures released by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, 222,000 applicants have opted for the government Hajj scheme, while approximately 86,000 applicants have chosen the private Hajj scheme.
The online registration drive follows the federal cabinet’s approval of Pakistan’s Hajj Policy and Plan for 2027–2030, which aims to improve transparency, efficiency, and convenience in the management of Hajj operations.
The ministry has encouraged eligible citizens to complete their registration through the official digital platforms and to rely only on authorized government channels for Hajj-related information and services.
Officials say the introduction of online payment facilities will make the process faster, safer, and more transparent by enabling applicants to submit Hajj expenses electronically once the payment phase begins.
The digital system is expected to reduce paperwork, minimize delays, and streamline communication between pilgrims and the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The government has been gradually expanding the use of technology in Hajj management over recent years, introducing online registration, mobile applications, and digital information services to improve the overall experience for Pakistani pilgrims.
Authorities believe that digitizing registration and payment procedures will help increase efficiency, enhance transparency, and provide greater convenience to hundreds of thousands of prospective pilgrims preparing for Hajj in the coming years.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has advised applicants to monitor official announcements regarding payment schedules, eligibility criteria, and other procedural requirements through the ministry’s website and the Pak Hajj mobile application.
Officials added that further details about the online payment mechanism and the subsequent stages of the Hajj process will be announced in due course.
