DADU: The pilgrims’ rest house (Musafir Khana) at the historic shrine of Hazrat Pir Nango Shah, located in the village of Sial near Dadu, has fallen into a state of severe disrepair, causing significant hardship for devotees visiting the shrine from across Sindh.

Local residents, pilgrims, and devotees told the media that the decades-old building has deteriorated badly, making it difficult and unsafe for visitors seeking accommodation during their stay. They said the shrine receives hundreds of devotees every day, particularly on Fridays, religious occasions, and during the annual Urs celebrations, but the lack of proper lodging, sanitation, and other basic facilities has created serious problems for visitors.

According to the residents, the walls of the rest house have developed large cracks, while the roof has also weakened considerably, raising fears that the structure could collapse at any time and lead to a tragic accident.

They emphasized that the shrine of Hazrat Pir Nango Shah is not only an important spiritual center for Dadu district but also attracts devotees from all parts of Sindh. Therefore, providing safe and adequate facilities for pilgrims is the responsibility of the government and the relevant authorities.

The residents expressed disappointment that despite repeatedly informing senior officials about the deteriorating condition of the building, no practical measures have been taken so far.

Local community members, pilgrims, and social activists have appealed to the Auqaf Department, Deputy Commissioner Dadu, district administration, and other concerned authorities to immediately inspect the shrine and the existing rest house. They urged the authorities to demolish the unsafe structure and construct a modern pilgrims’ rest house equipped with essential facilities, ensuring that visitors from across the province can stay in a safe, comfortable, and dignified environment during their religious visits.
