Kabul: The body of former Afghanistan fast bowler Shapoor Zadran has arrived in Kabul from India, where he had been receiving medical treatment before his passing.
According to the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), Zadran’s body was flown to Kabul on Wednesday.
A large number of family members, relatives, friends, government officials, and members of the Afghanistan national cricket team gathered at Kabul International Airport to receive his body and pay their final respects.
Among those present were several current and former Afghan cricketers, including Rashid Khan and Ibrahim Zadran, who joined mourners in paying an emotional tribute to the late fast bowler.
Shapoor Zadran was one of Afghanistan’s pioneering fast bowlers and played a significant role in the country’s rise in international cricket. His death has been widely mourned across the Afghan cricket community.
