Islamabad – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for emerging as the leading political party in the recent Gilgit-Baltistan elections.
In his statement, the Prime Minister appreciated the peaceful conduct of the elections and also extended congratulations to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan for their active participation in the democratic process.
He said that the PPP has emerged as the majority political party in Gilgit-Baltistan and deserves appreciation for its performance. He also congratulated PPP leaders President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on the electoral outcome.
The Prime Minister further acknowledged the efforts of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidates who, according to him, put up a strong contest in the elections. He praised the party’s workers and team for their hard work and dedication during the campaign.
Shehbaz Sharif said that peaceful elections and active political engagement reflect the strength of democracy and are a matter of pride for all stakeholders.
