SUKKUR : Haji Muhammad Bakhsh Mehr, a resident of Bashirabad, Sukkur, alleged during a press conference at the Sukkur National Press Club (Registered) that he had been defrauded of Rs120 million in a plot transaction.
According to Haji Muhammad Bakhsh Mehr, he entered into a deal in 2016 with Datar Chandio, brother of Sardar Chandio, for plots in the Safoora Goth area of Karachi. He claimed that he later discovered that the housing society where the plots were supposed to be allotted did not actually belong to the person with whom he had made the deal.
He alleged that he was provided with fake files and was subsequently charged Rs120 million. He said that nearly 10 years had passed since the matter arose and that he had repeatedly protested and sought justice, but no remedy had been provided so far.
Haji Muhammad Bakhsh Mehr said he had also approached Sardar Nawab Chandio but was allegedly given only assurances. He further alleged that Datar Chandio had the purported support of a Pakistan National Assembly member and a Sindh Assembly member belonging to the Chandio community, which, he claimed, had prevented action against him.
He appealed to Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to intervene, provide him justice and take action against elements allegedly bringing a bad name to the party.
He said he had been struggling for justice for years and had been left in distress, adding that his children’s education had also been severely affected. He also appealed to Ghaus Bakhsh Khan Mehr and National Assembly member Shahryar Mehr for assistance.
Haji Muhammad Bakhsh Mehr called upon the Chief Justice of Pakistan, the Sindh government, Inspector General of Police Sindh, relevant security agencies and other senior authorities to take immediate notice of the matter, order a transparent investigation and ensure the recovery of his money.
