Tando Jam: Malakand Chowk in Tando Jam has turned into a pond due to the failure to drain stagnant sewage water, causing serious difficulties for traders, shopkeepers and citizens.
Speaking on the issue, President of the Tando Jam Traders Association Abdul Mannan Rajput, Vice President Shahid Iqbal Rajput, and Bilal Taufiq expressed deep concern over the accumulation of dirty water at Malakand Chowk. They said that the lack of an effective drainage system had caused sewage water to accumulate in the area, creating severe problems for shopkeepers and residents.
The traders said that sewage water had remained stagnant in front of shops for several days. As a result, traffic and pedestrian movement had been badly affected, while the foul smell and unhygienic conditions had also damaged the business environment.
Shopkeepers are facing difficulties accessing their businesses because of the stagnant sewage, while citizens visiting the area for shopping are also experiencing considerable inconvenience.
Abdul Mannan Rajput, Shahid Iqbal Rajput and Bilal Taufiq demanded that the concerned municipal authorities immediately remove the sewage water from Malakand Chowk, establish a permanent solution to the drainage problem, and ensure effective sanitation arrangements.
They warned that if the sewage drainage issue was not resolved immediately, the business community would be forced to decide on its future course of action.
