n Salehpat, villagers staged a protest in front of the Taluka Press Club against alleged misconduct by Sindh Bank staff. Protesters, including Jaggan Soomro and Ghulam Sarwar Shanbani, accused the bank employees of harassing local residents and denying them their rightful payments.
Jaggan Soomro stated that his late father had an approved government plot with pending installments, and when he approached Sindh Bank Salehpat to open an account, the staff demanded 6,000 rupees as a bribe. Even after two months, neither the account was opened nor was a checkbook issued. Ghulam Sarwar Shanbani said that despite being listed in the household survey for payments, the bank denied him money and, using abusive language, forced him out of the bank with the help of security guards.
The protesters alleged that bank staff deliberately create excuses to delay payments if bribes are not paid. They demanded that the Commissioner Sukkur order a judicial inquiry and take legal action against the erring bank employees.
