NAUSHAHRO FEROZE — The Sindh government has approved a major development initiative for the district of Naushahro Feroze, with 45 separate schemes focusing on the construction, repair, and improvement of key roads across the region. The projects, valued at approximately Rs. 557 million, aim to enhance transportation infrastructure, facilitate rural connectivity, and promote regional trade and mobility.

According to Executive Engineer of the Highways Division, Naushahro Feroze, tenders for the schemes have already been issued, marking the start of a comprehensive road rehabilitation program. He stated that the initiative reflects the provincial government’s commitment to improving public infrastructure in smaller districts and addressing long-standing complaints regarding deteriorated road conditions.

Providing details of the schemes, the official said that Rs. 15 million have been allocated for the construction of the road stretching from Railway Phatak Lakha Road to Goth Bago Dero, a route that plays an essential role in linking local communities and nearby markets. Similarly, the Mithalabad to Jalbani Shakh road, spanning nearly two kilometers, will undergo complete improvement and repair work at a cost of Rs. 31 million.

In addition, Rs. 10 million have been earmarked for completing the remaining section of the Bharya Road to Chahen Manomal Road, a key route connecting agricultural zones to nearby commercial centers. Meanwhile, tenders worth Rs. 18 million have been issued for the rehabilitation of Daryakhan Mari to Goth Qabul Khan Lashari Road, which has long suffered from potholes and structural damage due to flooding and heavy vehicle use.

Officials noted that many of these roads not only serve as inter-village links but also connect farmers to grain markets, schools, and healthcare centers, making their maintenance vital for the district’s socio-economic development. The new roadworks are expected to improve travel times, reduce vehicle maintenance costs, and support the local economy by enabling smoother movement of goods and people.
