Rohri: In view of the expected monsoon rains, Divisional Superintendent Pakistan Railways Sukkur, Farman Ghani, has taken timely measures and conducted a detailed inspection of the Rohri to Nawabshah railway section through a motor trolley.

The inspection was carried out to ensure the safety of railway operations and protect passengers during the monsoon season. The DS Railway Sukkur, along with divisional officers and technical staff, reviewed the condition of railway tracks, bridges, level crossings, signaling systems, railway installations, and other sensitive locations that may face risks during heavy rainfall.

During the visit, Farman Ghani received detailed briefings about the current condition of railway infrastructure, train operations, safety arrangements, and ongoing repair and maintenance work.

He issued clear instructions that continuous monitoring of railway tracks, timely repairs, proper functioning of the signaling system, and implementation of safety measures must remain a top priority. He directed officials to immediately identify and resolve any technical issues or problems caused by rainfall to ensure smooth, safe, and timely train operations.

The DS Sukkur also inspected bridges, railway facilities, and other infrastructure, and instructed officials to improve protection of railway assets, cleanliness, and administrative arrangements.

Farman Ghani said that all available resources will be utilized to ensure safe railway operations, modern infrastructure, effective management, and better facilities for passengers in Sukkur Division.

Experts say that during the monsoon season, railway tracks may face risks due to water accumulation, weakening of soil beneath tracks, pressure on bridges, and possible disruption of signaling systems. Therefore, advance inspections and preventive measures under the supervision of senior railway officials play an important role in avoiding accidents and operational disruptions.

The detailed inspection of the Rohri-Nawabshah section reflects Pakistan Railways Sukkur Division’s preparedness, continuous monitoring, and commitment to providing passengers with safe, reliable, and uninterrupted travel facilities during the rainy season.
