Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said that terrorist attacks will not weaken the resolve of the people of Balochistan, reaffirming their commitment to Pakistan.
Speaking at a ceremony marking the death anniversary of Nawabzada Siraj Raisani in Quetta, Bugti said, “No matter how many attacks the terrorists carry out, we will never abandon Pakistan’s flag. The people of Balochistan love Pakistan.”
Referring to recent security incidents, the chief minister said that 11 Pakistan Army personnel were martyred in Bela three days ago, while five innocent barbers were killed in another attack the previous day. He questioned whether such acts reflected the traditions of Balochistan and asked why there was not stronger public condemnation or protest against the killings.
Bugti described the violence as part of a broader conspiracy, stressing that all segments of society must unite to defeat those seeking to destabilize the province.
The chief minister also revealed that his younger brother was injured in an attack two months ago but continues to stand against terrorism. He paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Frontier Corps (FC), Balochistan Police, and Pakistan’s armed forces, saying they have made immense sacrifices in the fight against militancy.
He further stated that while members of the state’s security institutions continue to lose their lives in terrorist attacks, accusations are often directed at the state itself.
Paying homage to Nawabzada Siraj Raisani, Bugti said his sacrifice would be remembered as a defining chapter in Balochistan’s history. He noted that Raisani remained on the front line during some of the province’s most challenging periods and dedicated his life to promoting peace and stability.
