Mirpurkhas A woman from Umerkot district has alleged that her husband, while intoxicated, subjected her to severe violence, expelled her and her six children from their home and divorced her. She has also alleged that she is receiving death threats and threats of being implicated in false cases.
Speaking to journalists in Mirpurkhas, Jiwani Kolhi, a resident of village Noor Muhammad Halipoto, said she was married to Alam Kolhi, whom she described as addicted to alcohol. She alleged that a few days ago, her husband severely assaulted her while intoxicated, expelled her and her children from the house and divorced her.
She further alleged that Alam Seer, Vishnu, Kanji, Karo, Partab, Laghdhero, Maghan and others were threatening to abduct and kill her and her children. She said she had also submitted an application before a court in Umerkot regarding the matter.
The woman claimed that the accused were searching for her with the intention of harming her, forcing her and her children to live in fear and displacement.
She appealed to the IG Sindh, DIG Mirpurkhas, SSP Umerkot and other relevant authorities to take immediate notice of the matter, initiate legal action against those allegedly involved and provide her and her children with justice and protection.
