TEHRAN: Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has vowed that those responsible for the deaths of his predecessor, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and others killed in the recent conflict will be held accountable.

According to Iranian media, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei issued a written statement in which he said Iran would remain committed to the path of the late supreme leader and seek justice for all those who lost their lives.

He stated that Iran would continue following the principles and legacy of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, describing the pursuit of accountability as a national commitment.

“The blood of the martyred leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and all other martyrs will not go unanswered,” the statement said, according to Iranian media.

Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei added that seeking retribution for those killed reflects the will of the Iranian nation and said the pledge would be fulfilled.

He also claimed that the individuals responsible for what he described as the crimes had already been identified and warned that they would not escape accountability.

According to the statement, those responsible “will carry with them to their graves the unfulfilled hope of a peaceful death.”

The Iranian leader further said that whether or not the current generation remains alive, the commitment to pursue justice would endure.

“We may or may not remain, but this promise will be fulfilled. Very soon, free people across the world will play their part in completing this mission,” he said, according to the statement carried by Iranian media.

The remarks were reported by Iranian state media. The statement does not identify specific individuals or countries allegedly responsible, and no immediate response from any party mentioned in relation to the allegations was included in the reports.
