LAHORE: A Lahore court has extended the physical remand of four suspects, including Raza Dar, by five days in a case involving the alleged kidnapping and rape of two foreign women.

The accused—Raza Dar, Sikandar Khan, Hassan Raza, and Sajid Ali—were produced before Judicial Magistrate Azhar Mahmood after the expiry of their previous remand.

During the hearing, the prosecution requested a further nine-day physical remand, arguing that investigators still needed to recover a laptop, a weapon, and a vehicle allegedly linked to the case.

Counsel Salman Shahid, representing suspects Sikandar Khan and Sajid Ali, argued that Sajid was a security guard from a low-income family, while Sikandar was a businessman. He contended that neither of the two had been named in the original FIR and that they were arrested solely on the basis of supplementary statements.

The defense further alleged that innocent individuals were being implicated to shield the main suspects, claiming that the principal accused had not yet been produced before any court.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the court granted the police a five-day extension of the suspects’ physical remand to continue the investigation.
