Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening regional peace and stability, agreeing to work closely on advancing the next phase of the recently concluded Iran–United States agreement.
According to an official statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the two leaders held a high-level telephone conversation during which they discussed the landmark peace accord and broader regional developments. The exchange highlighted the growing cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in promoting diplomatic solutions to long-standing international disputes.
During the conversation, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the successful conclusion of the Iran–US agreement, which has been widely welcomed as a significant step toward reducing tensions in the Middle East. In response, Prime Minister Sharif congratulated the Saudi Crown Prince on the signing of what was described as the historic Islamabad Peace Agreement and acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s constructive role throughout the process.
The statement noted that the Saudi Crown Prince particularly praised Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for his tireless efforts and contribution to the diplomatic initiative. According to the Crown Prince, the commitment and leadership demonstrated by both Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir played a key role in facilitating the successful completion of the peace arrangement.
Both leaders expressed satisfaction over the progress achieved so far and agreed that the next phase of the Iran–US agreement should be pursued with the same determination and diplomatic engagement. They emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum in the negotiations and ensuring that all parties remain committed to the objectives of peace, stability, and mutual understanding.
The two sides also agreed to remain fully vigilant against any attempts to undermine or sabotage the ongoing diplomatic process. According to the official statement, both leaders acknowledged that significant geopolitical agreements often face resistance from actors who may seek to disrupt dialogue and reconciliation efforts. Therefore, they stressed the need for continued coordination and close consultation among friendly countries to safeguard the achievements made thus far.

The discussion also covered bilateral relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Prime Minister Sharif informed the Crown Prince that both countries are ready to finalize and sign a comprehensive economic package aimed at further expanding trade, investment, and strategic cooperation. The proposed package is expected to strengthen economic ties and create new opportunities for collaboration in multiple sectors, including energy, infrastructure, technology, and human resource development.
The Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing its strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia and expressed confidence that economic cooperation between the two nations would continue to grow in the coming years. He emphasized that stronger economic relations would complement ongoing political and diplomatic cooperation between Islamabad and Riyadh.
During the conversation, Prime Minister Sharif also extended a formal invitation to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to visit Pakistan at a time convenient to him. The invitation reflects Pakistan’s desire to further deepen bilateral engagement and reinforce the close relationship that has historically existed between the two brotherly nations.
The leaders agreed to maintain regular communication and continue close cooperation on regional and international matters of mutual interest. They stressed that consultation and coordination among friendly countries are essential in addressing complex challenges facing the region.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif further acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s role in supporting peace efforts and expressed gratitude for the Crown Prince’s consistent backing throughout the negotiation process. He stated that the strong support provided by Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries was instrumental in helping secure the peace agreement within a relatively short period.
