Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari has accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of spreading misleading propaganda by circulating videos from unrelated incidents and presenting them as footage of recent protests in Pakistan.
In a statement, Azma claimed that an old video of a boiler incident in Jamshoro had been falsely linked to a protest in Peshawar. Also, a video of a protest at Jantar Mantar in India had been presented as footage of a demonstration in Islamabad.
Criticizing PTI over the circulation of misleading videos, the provincial information minister sarcastically remarked that the party should organize its next rally on the moon and use footage from NASA to promote it.
Azma also criticized the KP government, questioning its performance over the past 13 years and asking what it had delivered for the province’s people.
She alleged that the provincial government had failed to ensure public safety, claiming that terrorists were operating with protection while the police remained unarmed and citizens were left at the mercy of the situation.
The minister said the provincial leadership over what she described as a lack of respect for the national anthem and flag and the situation in KP reflected serious governance and security concerns, holding the provincial government responsible for its handling of public safety.
