Islamabad: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that discussions with the government are continuing regarding the party’s reservations about the federal budget.

A two-member government delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, met Bilawal Bhutto in his chamber. During the meeting, Ishaq Dar briefed him on the budget figures and financial details.

Speaking after the meeting, Bilawal said that consultations with the government over budget-related concerns are ongoing. He confirmed that he had met with Ishaq Dar and that further discussions would take place in the coming days.

The development comes amid reports of differences between the PPP and the government over certain aspects of the budget. Despite these concerns, both sides appear to be engaged in dialogue to reach a mutually acceptable understanding.

Separately, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and PPP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha also met Bilawal Bhutto.

During the meeting, Bilawal expressed concern over the wheat shortage crisis in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and directed the governor to play an active role in addressing the issue. He emphasized that the province’s interests should be defended collectively and urged all political parties to work together in resolving the challenges facing the region.

Bilawal reiterated the importance of cooperation and consultation in dealing with national and provincial issues, particularly those affecting the public and economic stability.
