Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has said there is no option but to accept his party’s demands, as political tensions grow over the possibility of emergency rule or governor’s rule in the province.

In a statement on X, Afridi said taking such steps without formally announcing an emergency or governor’s rule amounted to rebellion. He challenged those considering the move to show courage and make an official announcement.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the chief minister said his party would not withdraw from its constitutional and legal demands under any circumstances.

He added that the long march would continue in line with the Constitution and the law until those demands were met.

Afridi also said that, following a formal announcement of emergency rule or governor’s rule, people would stop citing Turkey as an example.

He insisted that Imran Khan’s policies would prevail in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying: “Only Imran Khan’s policy will run in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The rule will be Imran Khan’s.”
