MIRPURKHAS — Report by Khuda Bakhsh Chohan: Mirpurkhas police have continued their crackdown against the illegal sale and distribution of gutka and other harmful substances, carrying out a successful operation in the city and arresting a suspected drug seller.

The operation was conducted on the directives of DIG Mirpurkhas Range Captain (Retired) Faisal Abdullah Chachar and SSP Mirpurkhas Sajid Ameer Sadozai. Police officials said that action against individuals allegedly involved in the sale and distribution of prohibited substances would continue in different areas of the district.

According to police, a team led by CIA In-charge Inspector Zeeshan Ali Lashari, along with ASI Abdul Salam Anar and other personnel, conducted an operation against suspected gutka sellers.

During the operation, police arrested a suspect identified as Rashid Rajput. Officials said that prohibited gutka was recovered from his possession during a search conducted by the police team.

Police reported that 10 packets of the health-hazardous product known as “Safeena Gutka” were recovered from the suspect. According to the police statement, the packets contained a total of 1,100 individual pouches.

Following the recovery, a case was registered against the arrested suspect under Section 8/4 of the Gutka Act. Police said that FIR No. 119/2026 was registered at Town Police Station Mirpurkhas.

The authorities said that further investigation into the case is underway. Investigators are expected to question the arrested suspect regarding the source of the recovered gutka and determine whether other individuals may be involved in its supply or distribution.

Police officials said the action forms part of an ongoing campaign against the sale of prohibited and harmful substances in Mirpurkhas. The campaign is being carried out under the supervision and directions of senior police officials in the Mirpurkhas Range.
