Washington: Former U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed dissatisfaction with new ceasefire proposals from Iran that were reportedly conveyed through Pakistan.
Speaking to the media, Trump said that communication with Iran is ongoing through phone discussions, adding that while Iran appears interested in reaching a deal, progress remains stalled.
“Iran wants a deal, but things are not moving forward. They are demanding things that we do not agree with,” Trump stated.
He also reiterated his concern over Iran’s nuclear ambitions, saying he does not want Iran to possess nuclear weapons under any circumstances.
Trump described Iran’s current leadership as “confused,” claiming there is a lack of unity within its ranks. “Different people are saying different things. They themselves don’t seem to know who is in charge,” he remarked.
However, Trump did not disclose specific details about the Iranian proposals that he found unacceptable.
During the conversation, he also mentioned Pakistan, expressing respect for its leadership. Trump said he holds “great respect” for Pakistan’s Prime Minister and the country’s Field Marshal.
