KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast a rise in temperature in Karachi over the next 24 hours, with hot weather expected to persist across the شہر.

According to the Met Office, the sky will remain clear during the day, while the maximum temperature is likely to range between 36°C and 38°C. The minimum temperature recorded during the night was around 29°C.

Officials also noted that intermittent strong winds may blow across the city. Currently, winds are blowing from the west at a speed of حوالي 11 kilometers per hour, with humidity levels recorded at 66%, adding to the احساس of heat.

Meanwhile, most districts of سندھ are expected to experience hot to very hot and dry conditions. The Met Office has warned that central and upper سندھ will remain under the influence of a heatwave until May 3.

Areas including Jamshoro, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Ghotki, and Sanghar are likely to see temperatures 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above normal. Similarly, Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze, Jacobabad, Larkana, and Sukkur are also expected to be affected by heatwave conditions.

However, a change in weather patterns is anticipated as a system of western winds may enter the northwestern parts of the country later tonight. This could bring dust storms and thunderstorms with rain in upper and central regions.

In Sindh’s upper علاقوں, gusty winds and thunderstorms are also expected between today and tomorrow, with chances of light rain or drizzle in isolated areas. This system may temporarily reduce the intensity of heat, though temperatures are likely to rise again after May 5.
