ISLAMABAD: The seniority list of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has been revised following the transfer of three judges to other high courts, resulting in changes to the court’s internal hierarchy and bench composition.

After the updated seniority list, Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq has become the senior-most judge after the Chief Justice.

Alongside this development, a new judges’ duty roster has been issued for the upcoming week. According to the roster, effective from May 4, seven single benches and four division benches will hear cases.

A special division bench for tax-related cases has been تشکیل comprising Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq and Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir. Meanwhile, Justice Muhammad Asif will be part of two separate division benches alongside other judges, including the Chief Justice.

For criminal and other cases, Justice Muhammad Asif will serve on division benches. The first division bench will include Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif. The second will consist of Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq and Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir.

The third division bench will be made up of Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro and Justice Muhammad Asif, while the fourth bench will include Justice Muhammad Azam Khan and Justice Raja Inam Amin Minhas.

The newly issued duty roster will remain in effect from May 4 until further orders.

It is worth noting that the recent transfers involved Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani to the Lahore High Court, Justice Babar Sattar to the Peshawar High Court, and Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz to the Sindh High Court, as per a notification issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice.
