MUMBAI: Indian choreographer Bosco has revealed that actress Katrina Kaif struggled with dancing early in her career and was even told by a choreographer that she was “zero” at dancing and should give it up.
Bosco and his choreography partner Caesar recently appeared in an interview with filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan , where they discussed their journey in choreography and their experience of working with Farah.
During the conversation, Farah recalled the making of the popular song “Sheila Ki Jawani”, saying it was among the most economical song sequences she had choreographed.
According to Farah, the song was filmed with only 10 male dancers and Katrina Kaif, keeping the production relatively simple.
Bosco said that “Sheila Ki Jawani” proved to be a game changer for Katrina Kaif’s career. Farah agreed, adding that although the song eventually became a major success, the team did not initially know how capable Katrina was as a dancer.
Bosco then recalled Katrina’s early struggles in the industry. He said that during the beginning of her career, the actress faced humiliation from another choreographer who criticized her dancing ability.
According to Bosco, the choreographer told Katrina that she was “zero” when it came to dancing and suggested that she should stop dancing altogether.
Despite the criticism, Katrina continued working on her dancing skills and gradually developed a reputation for delivering high-energy performances in Bollywood films.
Her performance in “Sheila Ki Jawani,” from the 2010 film Tees Maar Khan, subsequently became one of the most recognizable dance performances of her career.
