Karachi: Two sanitation workers died after losing consciousness while working inside a sewer near a community hall in the Bhim Pura area of Karachi.

According to rescue officials, the two workers suddenly became unconscious while cleaning the sewer on Wednesday afternoon. They were immediately taken to Civil Hospital for treatment.

As their condition deteriorated, their families shifted them to a private hospital, where both workers later died.

The deceased were identified as 30-year-old Vaneesh and 30-year-old Omesh. Their bodies were subsequently moved from the private hospital to a morgue on Shahrah-e-Faisal.

The incident highlights the serious risks faced by sanitation workers who enter sewer lines without adequate safety measures and protective equipment.
