Islamabad: Foreign Office spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan has said that bilateral defence cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is continuing, while implementation of the recently signed defence agreement will require some time.
During his weekly briefing in Islamabad, the spokesperson condemned the Houthi attacks in Saudi Arabia and said Pakistan had expressed solidarity with the Saudi leadership and people.
He reiterated that Pakistan would continue to support Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and security.
Sajjad Haider Khan said that bilateral defence cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia was already ongoing. He added that Pakistani forces are present in Saudi Arabia for training and logistical purposes.
Regarding the defence agreement, the spokesperson said its implementation would take some time and that further aspects of bilateral defence cooperation would become clear in due course.
He also emphasized that Pakistan remains committed to strengthening its longstanding defence and security relationship with Saudi Arabia.
