Gas Load-Shedding Schedule Implemented in Karachi, Multiple Areas Affected

A new gas load-shedding schedule has been implemented in کراچی, causing inconvenience for residents as supply is being suspended during key hours of the day. The move comes amid ongoing shortages and distribution challenges faced by Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC).

According to sources, gas supply in various parts of the city is being suspended from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and again in the afternoon from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. In addition to these daytime cuts, gas supply is also being shut off during the night from 10:00 PM until 5:30 AM, further limiting availability for households.

The scheduled outages have significantly impacted daily routines, particularly for families relying on gas for cooking. Morning hours, which are typically the busiest for households, have become especially challenging due to low or no gas pressure.

Reports indicate that several areas of Karachi are facing severe disruptions. In neighborhoods such as FB Area and North Nazimabad, gas supply remained suspended in multiple blocks, leaving residents struggling to prepare meals. Similarly, areas including Malir, Khokhrapar, Landhi, Orangi Town, and North Karachi have also experienced prolonged outages.

Other localities such as Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Nazimabad, Garden, and Liaquatabad are also affected by ongoing gas load-shedding, with intermittent supply adding to residents’ difficulties. Many citizens have expressed frustration over the inconsistent gas availability, especially during peak usage times.

Sui Southern Gas officials have indicated that the load-shedding schedule is part of efforts to manage limited gas resources and ensure distribution across the city. However, consumers argue that the extended ساعات of outages are causing serious disruptions to daily life.

Experts note that gas shortages in Pakistan, particularly in urban centers like Karachi, have become a recurring issue, especially during periods of increased demand. Aging infrastructure, supply constraints, and rising consumption have all contributed to the problem.

Residents are increasingly turning to alternative energy sources such as LPG and electric appliances, although these options come with additional costs and challenges. The situation has also raised concerns about the need for long-term solutions, including improved infrastructure, better resource management, and diversification of energy sources.

In conclusion, the implementation of a structured gas load-shedding schedule in Karachi reflects the ongoing energy challenges faced by the city. While authorities aim to manage limited supply, the impact on daily life remains significant, highlighting the urgent need for sustainable solutions to ensure reliable energy access for citizens.
