The Lahore High Court on Wedneday suspended the imposition of Rs200 fine on Kot Lakhpat Station House Officer Afzal Rauf until the next hearing.

A two member bench, comprising Justice Sadiq Mahmood Khurram and Justice Jawad Zafar, heard Afzal Rauf’s appeal against the order and admitted it for hearing.

The bench also summoned the record of the trial court in connection with the appeal.

The Anti Narcotics Court had imposed Rs200 fine on Afzal Rauf for failing to produce the case record.

During the proceedings, an administrative objection was resolved after the accused’s counsel assured the court that the fine would be deposited as a form of protest.

The court ordered that the sentence remain suspended until the next hearing.
