ISLAMABAD, Apr 03 (APP):Coordinator General of COMSTECH, Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary visited the University of Lahore and held a series of high-level meetings with senior officials to discuss strategies for strengthening interdisciplinary research.
During the visit, Prof. Dr. Choudhary met with Chairman Board of Governors Mr. Awais Raoof, CEO Qasim Ali Shah Foundation Mr. Qasim Ali Shah, Rector Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Dean Faculty of Sciences Prof. Dr. Ahmad Bilal Waqar, Director ORIC Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, and Dr. Umer Younis, Coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Research Centre.
The discussions focused on promoting interdisciplinary research within the university by encouraging collaboration across academic fields to address complex scientific and societal challenges.
The participants emphasized the need to enhance research capacity, strengthen interdepartmental linkages, and develop innovative programmes integrating multiple disciplines.
Prof. Dr. Choudhary appreciated the University of Lahore’s ongoing efforts to advance research and highlighted opportunities for collaboration with COMSTECH to promote scientific excellence and foster international partnerships among member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The university leadership reaffirmed its commitment to high-quality interdisciplinary research and expressed readiness to explore future collaborative initiatives aimed at boosting research productivity and innovation.
The visit concluded with both sides agreeing to jointly develop strategies and programmes to strengthen interdisciplinary research and contribute to scientific advancement in Pakistan and beyond.
