The cashless payment system has been activated in passport offices across Pakistan that allows applicants to pay passport fees through digital payment methods instead of standing in long queues.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced the nationwide implementation of the cashless passport fee system through a post on X, saying the facility has become effective from today.
Mohsin Naqvi said the digital payments system is another step towards ensuring transparent, fast and convenient government services.
He added that the new system will save citizens from waiting for hours to pay passport fees.
According to the interior minister, the initiative was completed on the instructions of the prime minister as part of efforts to improve public service delivery and facilitate passport applicants.
The interior minister also said reforms aimed at modernizing the passport system will continue.
Mohsin Naqvi also appreciated the efforts of the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports for achieving the milestone.
With the new system in place, digital payment facilities will now be fully operational at passport offices across the country
