According to local residents, the sewerage lines along the road have become clogged, resulting in the accumulation of stagnant wastewater. The situation is affecting traffic movement and creating foul odors and unhygienic conditions for citizens and businesses in the area.
Shopkeepers and residents said they had repeatedly informed the relevant authorities about the poor drainage system, but no effective measures had been taken so far.
They said the stagnant wastewater was not only affecting business activities but was also creating difficulties for passenger vehicles using the road.
Residents and traders appealed to the relevant authorities, including the Mayor of Sukkur, Deputy Commissioner Sukkur, Town Chairman, UC Chairman and ward councillor, to take immediate notice of the situation.
They demanded that the drainage system on Qureshi Goth Double Road be restored, the accumulated wastewater removed and proper sanitation arrangements made to provide immediate relief to the people.
