Ghotki: Anger and concern have spread among the family of young man Kashore Mal and members of the Marwari community following an alleged incident of severe violence near Yaro Lund in the Depri area of Ghotki district.
According to the victim’s family, Kashore Mal had gone to his in-laws’ house to bring his wife back. They alleged that his father-in-law, Roshan Mal, called influential local figure Mintar Lund, who allegedly subjected the young man to severe physical violence before handing him over to Jaruaar Police Station.
The family further alleged that instead of being provided protection and justice, Kashore Mal was allegedly subjected to further violence while in police custody for two days. They claimed that the alleged assault took place under the influence of Mintar Lund.
The victim’s relatives strongly condemned the incident, saying that subjecting an innocent citizen to violence instead of providing legal protection is a serious violation of the law.
The family and members of the Marwari community have appealed to Sukkur DIG Nasir Aftab Pathan and the Ghotki SSP to take immediate and impartial notice of the allegations.
They demanded strict legal action against Mintar Lund, Roshan Mal and any police personnel found involved in the alleged assault. They also called for proper protection and justice for Kashore Mal.
The family has urged the authorities to conduct a transparent investigation and ensure that those responsible are held accountable according to law.
