NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Division Ghulam Qadir Khan Talpur visited Naushahro Feroze and chaired a high-level introductory meeting with district and administrative officers at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Arsalan Saleem briefed the commissioner on the district’s overall administrative situation, development projects, law and order and key issues.

The commissioner directed officers to ensure punctuality, transparency and a public-friendly attitude in their offices, warning that negligence in resolving public complaints would not be tolerated. He also ordered timely completion of ongoing development schemes.

He stressed improving schools and hospitals, ensuring attendance of teachers and medical staff, and providing basic facilities to citizens. He directed the health department to ensure the availability of doctors, paramedics and medicines at medical centres.

The commissioner also called for stronger measures against drug addiction among youth and urged education officials to regularly inspect schools.

SEPCO officials were directed to reduce load-shedding in cities, hospitals and educational institutions while taking effective action against electricity theft.

Before the meeting, Commissioner Talpur made a surprise visit to Civil Hospital Naushahro Feroze, inspected various departments and spoke to patients about the facilities being provided to them. Medical Superintendent Dr Abdul Hameed Ansari briefed him about staff shortages and other problems facing the hospital.

The commissioner directed that a written report on the hospital’s issues be submitted so that the matter could be taken up with the relevant higher authorities.
