RAWALPINDI: A nine-year-old madrasa student allegedly died after being subjected to violence at a religious seminary in Kallar Syedan, with police taking two people into custody in connection with the incident.
According to police, the deceased student was identified as nine-year-old Faizan, a resident of Bhakkar. The child had reportedly been studying at the madrasa for around four months before the incident.
Police said the child’s body was taken to Bhakkar after his death. During the bathing of the body, family members allegedly noticed marks of violence and subsequently contacted the police.
Following the family’s complaint, police registered a case and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
Police officials said two suspects have been taken into custody as part of the investigation. They added that further action would be taken against anyone found to have been involved in the incident.
The police have vowed to arrest all individuals found responsible for the alleged violence. The investigation is continuing, while authorities are working to determine the circumstances that led to the student’s death.
The incident has raised concerns over the safety and welfare of children studying at religious seminaries and the need for effective oversight to prevent alleged abuse and violence against students.
