Iran has rejected an offer of negotiations from the United States, with senior Iranian official Ali Larijani stating that Tehran will not engage in talks with Washington.
In a statement posted on the social media platform X, Larijani — who serves as a senior figure associated with Iran’s national security leadership — declared that Iran refuses to negotiate with the United States under current circumstances.
In a separate statement, he said that the “self-styled ideas” of former U.S. President Donald Trump have pushed the Middle East into chaos.
Earlier, in an interview with an American publication, Trump had said he was willing to speak with Iran’s new leadership. He also claimed that Iran’s new leader was interested in engaging in dialogue with him.
The exchange of statements comes amid heightened regional tensions following reported joint U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran. In response, Iran has reportedly carried out retaliatory actions, while the United States and Israel continue military operations targeting Iranian positions.
