Bangladesh is reportedly close to beginning formal negotiations with China over the possible purchase of J-10CE fighter aircraft and attack helicopters.

According to a foreign news agency, a government panel in Bangladesh is currently preparing a draft agreement for the potential deal.

Bangladesh Prime Minister’s Adviser on Information and Broadcasting Zahid Rahman announced the development.

If negotiations proceed, the proposed acquisition could represent a significant step in Bangladesh’s efforts to modernize its air force and strengthen its military aviation capabilities.

The J-10CE is the export version of China’s J-10C multirole fighter and is equipped for both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. The aircraft has also been exported to other countries, including Pakistan.
