Important internal details have emerged regarding the possible hospital transfer of Imran Khan and his access to personal doctors while in custody. According to party sources, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan contacted Aleema Khan on February 14 and asked her to provide the names of two doctors so they could be sent to the jail to examine Imran Khan. However, Aleema Khan reportedly opposed the idea of sending doctors to the jail and instead insisted that he be shifted to a hospital for medical treatment. Sources claim that the government was willing to transfer Imran Khan to a hospital and that arrangements had been completed, but disagreements within the party created complications. It is reported that Aleema Khan objected to the name of Qasim Zaman for the hospital transfer process and consistently insisted on Dr. Nausherwan Burki overseeing the treatment. A conference call was also held regarding the matter, which included senior PTI leaders. According to party insiders, the parliamentary party believed that due to Aleema Khan’s stance and handling of the issue, the hospital transfer could not materialize. Meanwhile, Ayaz Sadiq and Mohsin Naqvi remained in contact with the PTI leadership, while the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, was personally coordinating with relevant institutions regarding Imran Khan’s medical treatment. The developments highlight internal differences over the approach to his medical care, which ultimately affected the decision about transferring him to a hospital.
