Jemima Khan, the former wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has called on the British government to break its silence over his imprisonment and what she described as alleged human rights violations.
In a message posted on social media, Jemima said Imran Khan had been subjected to political victimization for three years and had spent a prolonged period in solitary confinement.
She urged the UK government to publicly raise the issue of his detention and the alleged violations of his fundamental human rights. She called on British authorities to end what she characterized as their silence and speak clearly about the situation.
Jemima also claimed that an order issued by Pakistan’s Supreme Court in relation to the matter was not being implemented. She urged the British government to take a more explicit position and call for the protection of Imran Khan’s basic human rights.
Her comments add to the international attention surrounding the former Pakistani prime minister’s imprisonment and the conditions under which he is being held. Supporters of Imran Khan and PTI have repeatedly raised concerns about his treatment in detention and have called for greater access to medical care, legal rights and other facilities.
Jemima’s latest appeal specifically targets the British government, asking it to use its diplomatic voice to raise concerns about Imran Khan’s detention. Her comments reflect her continuing public involvement in issues concerning the former prime minister, despite the couple’s divorce.

Jemima’s statement, however, represents a direct appeal for the UK government to take a more visible position. She argued that the alleged violations warranted an unambiguous response and that the implementation of court orders concerning Imran Khan should be ensured.
The claims regarding political victimization, prolonged solitary confinement and non-compliance with a Supreme Court order are allegations made by Jemima and Imran Khan’s supporters. Their legal status and the government’s position on these claims remain matters of dispute.
