Sukkur: Two women were allegedly caught attempting to abduct a nine-month-old baby from a house near Shikarpur Phatak on Golimar Road in Sukkur. Family members caught the women and handed them over to the police, causing concern among residents of the area.
According to police, officers from the Side Area Police Station reached the scene after receiving information about the incident. The two women were taken into custody and transferred to the police station for questioning.
The baby’s father, Kashif Khoso, told police that his nine-month-old son, Muhammad Talha Khoso, was sleeping inside the house when two women allegedly entered the home and attempted to take the child away.
Family members noticed the women’s suspicious movements and immediately intervened, catching both of them before they could take the baby outside the house. They then informed the police and handed the women over to authorities.
Police identified the suspects as Hamani, daughter of Habib, and Khani, daughter of Habib, who are reportedly residents of Sadiqabad, Punjab.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are attempting to determine why the women entered the house and what their intentions were regarding the child. Further legal action will be taken based on evidence uncovered during the investigation.
The child’s family and local residents have called for a thorough investigation and strict legal action against anyone found responsible, in order to prevent similar incidents in the future.
