Islamabad / Quetta: Pakistan Railways has restored the Jaffer Express service from Quetta to Peshawar after a suspension of five days due to security concerns in Balochistan. According to railway officials, the train departed for Peshawar today following the resumption.
In addition, the passenger train service to Chaman has also been reinstated after a five-day halt and has resumed its regular schedule.
However, the Bolan Mail service from Karachi to Quetta will remain suspended until February 12, officials confirmed. The suspension of these services had been implemented on January 31, citing security incidents in Balochistan that posed risks to intercity travel within the province.
Earlier, Pakistan Railways had announced a temporary suspension of both the Jaffer Express and Bolan Mail for four days as a precautionary measure amid rising insecurity in the region. The decision to restore Jaffer Express was taken after assessing the prevailing security situation.
Railway authorities have emphasized that passenger safety remains their top priority and that services will be resumed progressively once conditions stabilize. Travelers are advised to check the latest schedules and make necessary arrangements before planning their journey.
