Rawalpindi: Pakistan’s security forces have successfully concluded Operation Radd-ul-Fitna–1 in Balochistan, eliminating 216 terrorists in intelligence-based operations conducted in the Panjgur and Harnai districts, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
In a statement issued by the military’s media wing, ISPR said the operation dealt a significant blow to hostile proxy networks, resulting in the destruction of terrorist leadership and their command-and-control infrastructure. The operation was launched to counter growing security threats and restore stability in the region.
Intelligence-Based Operations
ISPR stated that security forces carried out precise intelligence-based operations (IBOs) targeting terrorist hideouts and operational cells. These actions disrupted coordinated militant activities and dismantled networks involved in attacks against civilians and security personnel.
According to the statement, a large cache of foreign-manufactured weapons, explosives, and advanced equipment was recovered from the killed militants, indicating external involvement and sophisticated logistical support.
“The presence of modern weaponry and communication equipment provides concrete evidence of external facilitation and logistical backing to terrorist elements operating in Balochistan,” ISPR said.
Civilian and Security Forces Losses
The military acknowledged that the operation came at a heavy cost. ISPR confirmed that 36 innocent civilians lost their lives during the course of the operation, while 22 soldiers embraced martyrdom while defending the country.
“These sacrifices will never be forgotten,” the statement said, adding that the nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the families of the martyrs and those affected by terrorism.
Disruption of Terror Networks
ISPR noted that the operation successfully foiled attempts by Fitna-al-Hindustan-linked elements to destabilize Balochistan. The dismantling of leadership structures and operational command systems has significantly reduced the militants’ ability to regroup and carry out future attacks.
Security officials stated that the operation targeted not only armed militants but also their support infrastructure, including logistics, communication, and supply chains.
Regional Security Context
The military emphasized that Balochistan remains a key focus of counterterrorism efforts due to repeated attempts by militant groups to exploit the region’s geography and security challenges. ISPR reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to maintaining peace and countering all threats to national security.
The statement further said that foreign-backed efforts to spread instability in Balochistan have been decisively thwarted, and any future attempts would be met with a similar response.
Commitment to Counterterrorism
ISPR reaffirmed that operations against terrorism will continue until the complete elimination of extremist elements from the country. “The armed forces, with the support of the nation, will continue decisive actions against all forms of terrorism,” the statement added.
The military also highlighted the importance of public cooperation and intelligence sharing in identifying and neutralizing threats at an early stage.
National Solidarity
Concluding the statement, ISPR paid tribute to the martyrs and acknowledged the resilience of the Pakistani people. “Salute to the sacrifices of our martyrs. The nation stands united with their families, and our resolve to eradicate terrorism remains unwavering.”
