An 8-year-old boy from central China miraculously regained consciousness after 55 days.
This happened when video messages from his classmates were played for him.
According to a report, 8-year-old Liu Chuxi from Hunan province went into a coma in November 2025 following a traffic accident.
In the accident, he suffered severe brain injuries and his lungs were also damaged.
Doctors had warned that the chances of him regaining consciousness were extremely low.
Despite the doctors’ warnings, Liu’s mother refused to give up and took her son to several hospitals in hopes of possible treatment.
One doctor suggested that familiar voices or the child’s favorite music could stimulate specific parts of the brain and possibly help him regain consciousness.
Following the doctor’s advice, Liu’s mother collected music played at his school and played it daily beside her son’s hospital bed.
At the same time, Liu’s teacher gathered his classmates and recorded short but emotional video messages.
In one video, a boy said, “Chuxi, wake up soon, we want to play football together.” A girl said, “We all miss you so much. Chuxi, if you can hear our voices, please open your eyes.”
According to the report, the videos continued to be played, and 45 days after falling into a coma, movement was first noticed in Liu’s eyelids.
A few days later, he smiled when he heard his teacher’s voice, and on the 55th day, he fully regained consciousness and was able to move his left hand.
His teacher and school friends later visited him at the hospital and brought him gifts.
According to Liu’s mother, that moment was life-changing: “We finally saw the sun emerge from behind the clouds, and a miracle became possible.”
Liu’s condition is now improving, and he is recovering rapidly.
