CHONDKO — Aashiq Chandio, a young man from Chondko city who alleges that he was abducted, assaulted and filmed by unidentified individuals, has appealed to senior authorities for justice, protection and an impartial investigation into the incident.
According to Chandio, he was allegedly abducted at night and taken towards Bakr Shah Road, where he says he was subjected to physical abuse and mistreatment. He further alleges that the people involved recorded a video of the incident in an attempt to blackmail and intimidate him.
Chandio claims that after the alleged assault, he was abandoned on the roadside late at night, while the individuals involved fled the area. He says that a video purportedly showing the incident was later circulated on social media, causing him and his family severe mental distress, fear and reputational harm.
The alleged victim further claims that members of his family have been receiving threats of serious consequences. He has therefore appealed to the relevant authorities to ensure the safety and security of both himself and his family.
Chandio has demanded a transparent, impartial and thorough investigation into the alleged incident. He has urged authorities to identify and arrest all those found responsible and take legal action against them in accordance with the law.
He has specifically appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, the Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court, the Inspector General of Sindh Police, the Deputy Inspector General of Police Sukkur, the Senior Superintendent of Police Khairpur and other concerned officials to take immediate notice of the matter.
The alleged incident has also raised concerns regarding the misuse of social media to harass, intimidate and potentially blackmail individuals. The victim has called for the alleged video to be removed from social media platforms and for steps to be taken to prevent its further circulation.
Chandio has expressed hope that the authorities will respond promptly, protect him and his family from any further threats, and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice following a fair and transparent investigation.
