Lahore: Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has reiterated that Pakistan follows a zero-tolerance policy toward any threats to national security, stressing that the protection of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity remains the foremost mission of the Pakistan Army.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Asim Munir visited the Lahore Garrison, where he was briefed in detail on the operational preparedness of the formation. The visit underscored the armed forces’ continued focus on readiness, modernization, and professional excellence in the face of evolving security challenges.

During the visit, the Field Marshal reviewed training exercises conducted under the formation. He emphasized the importance of preparing for future warfare by embracing innovation, modern tactics, and emerging technologies. He highlighted that contemporary conflicts require adaptability, strategic foresight, and the ability to integrate new methods of warfare, making continuous training and modernization essential for maintaining combat effectiveness.

ISPR stated that Field Marshal Asim Munir also appreciated the sports and recreational facilities provided to the troops. He noted that such facilities play an important role in maintaining physical fitness, mental well-being, and overall morale of soldiers. According to him, a physically fit and mentally resilient force is better equipped to meet operational demands and perform its duties effectively.

As part of his visit, the Chief of Defence Forces also toured the High Care Centre at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Lahore. During the visit, he met medical staff and administrators and praised their professionalism, dedication, and high standard of medical care. He acknowledged the critical role played by military medical services in supporting troops during both peacetime and operational deployments, as well as in providing quality healthcare to serving personnel and their families.

Addressing officers at the Lahore Garrison, Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed that there is zero tolerance for threats to national security. He stated that the Pakistan Army remains fully committed to countering all forms of challenges, whether conventional or unconventional. He emphasized that safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity is the army’s top priority and a mission that guides all its planning and operations.

The Field Marshal said that Pakistan’s armed forces stand resolute in defending the country’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and internal stability. He stressed that the armed forces continue to promote high standards of professionalism, discipline, and selfless service to the nation. According to him, these values are the foundation of the military’s strength and credibility.

He further noted that the Pakistan Army possesses a strong capability to adapt to modern requirements and rapidly changing security environments. He highlighted that ongoing reforms, training programs, and the adoption of modern technologies are aimed at ensuring that the armed forces remain prepared for future challenges.

Field Marshal Asim Munir also underlined the importance of soldiers’ physical fitness and morale, describing them as key priorities for the military leadership. He said that a motivated and well-trained soldier is the backbone of an effective fighting force, capable of responding decisively to any threat. Ensuring the welfare, training, and professional development of troops, he added, remains a central focus of the army.

The ISPR statement noted that the visit reflected the army leadership’s emphasis on maintaining operational readiness, improving training standards, and ensuring the well-being of personnel. The Field Marshal’s interaction with officers and troops served as a morale booster and reinforced the message of unity, discipline, and preparedness across the ranks.

Analysts view the statement as a clear signal of the military’s firm stance on national security and its readiness to respond to emerging threats. At a time when regional and internal security dynamics continue to evolve, the emphasis on zero tolerance toward threats, combined with modernization and training, highlights the armed forces’ strategic priorities.

In conclusion, Field Marshal Asim Munir’s visit to the Lahore Garrison and CMH Lahore reaffirmed the Pakistan Army’s commitment to defending the nation against all challenges. With a focus on operational preparedness, innovation, discipline, and troop welfare, the armed forces aim to ensure that Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and internal stability remain secure under all circumstances.
